CISCO AIRONET 1100 SERIES ACCESS POINT
The Cisco Aironet® 1100 Series Access Point provides a high-speed,
secure, affordable, and easy-to-use wireless LAN solution that combines
the freedom and flexibility of wireless networking with the features
and services required in enterprise networks. The Cisco Aironet
1100 Series supports a single radio and is available in an IEEE
802.11g version or IEEE 802.11b version. The IEEE 802.11b version
is field upgradeable to 802.11g.
The access point offers flexibility and investment protection for
wireless networks. With the IEEE 802.11g version, users can enjoy
up to 54 Mbps data rates while maintaining full backward compatibility
with legacy 802.11b devices. Administrators can configure the access
point to support both 802.11g and legacy 802.11b clients for investment
protection or, for higher performance, it may be configured to support
only 802.11g clients. The Cisco Wireless Security Suite provides
the strongest enterprise security solution available while the Cisco
IOS® Software operating system delivers enterprise-class services
with a familiar user interface. The Cisco Aironet 1100 Series also
features integrated diversity dipole antennas and an innovative
mounting system for easy installation and reliable coverage in a
variety of locations and orientations.
CISCO AIRONET 1200 SERIES ACCESS POINT
Cisco® Aironet® 1200 Series access points deliver the investment
protection, versatility, and enterprise-class features demanded
by wireless LAN customers. It is designed specifically for challenging
environments like factories, warehouses, and large retail establishments
that require the antenna versatility associated with connectorized
antennas, as well as a rugged metal enclosure and a broad operating
temperature range.
Supporting Cisco IOS® Software, the Cisco Aironet 1200 Series
is a component of the Cisco Structured Wireless-Aware Network (SWAN)
framework, a comprehensive framework that delivers an integrated,
end-to-end wired and wireless network. Using the radio and network
management features of the Cisco SWAN framework for simplified deployment,
the Cisco Aironet 1200 Series extends the security, scalability,
reliability, ease of deployment, and manageability available in
wired networks to the WLAN.
The modular design of the 1200 Series provides a high-performance
802.11g configured access point that allows for either single- or
dual-radio configuration. While the 802.11g-configured access point
meets the needs of most customers and applications that may not
have a current need for 802.11a, an easy 802.11a upgrade kit is
available, to increase scalability and performance with complete
backward compatibility for legacy clients.
The Cisco Aironet 1200 Series hardware-accelerated AES encryption
supports enterprise-class, government-grade secure encryption over
the wireless LAN without compromising performance. IEEE 802.1X authentication
helps to ensure that only authorized users are allowed on the network.
The series also provides backward compatibility and support for
WPA client devices running TKIP, the RC4 encryption algorithm.
AP 300 Access Port
Next-Generation Access Ports: More Functionality at a Lower Cost
- Access Ports are a key component of Symbol Technologies' award
winning Wireless Switch System, the second-generation wireless LAN
architecture that does more, yet costs less. Working in conjunction
with Symbol's Wireless Switch 2000, the AP 300 Access Port delivers
robust and feature rich IEEE 802.11a/b/g connectivity. Simultaneous
service to 802.11a, 802.11b and 802.11g mobile devices provides
high-bandwidth wireless connectivity at speeds of up to 54 Mbps
in both the 2.4 and 5.2 GHz ISM bands. Access Ports substantially
reduce the cost of deploying, implementing and managing a wireless
LAN, while significantly increasing features, functionality and
security of the wireless LAN infrastructure.
Access Ports are much leaner and only a fraction of the cost of
first generation WLAN access points, due to the centralized architecture
of Symbol's Wireless Switch System. Access Ports connect to a centralized
processing and switching engine that resides in the WS 2000 Wireless
Switches via standard CAT 5 cabling-just as the access point connects
to an Ethernet hub or switch. But unlike the access point, features,
functionality, security and management are all centralized in the
Wireless Switch, effectively allowing the Access Ports to become
zero configuration devices. Maintenance and management, required
for each and every access point, is effectively eliminated. Access
Ports, once verified as an authorized network device, obtain initial
configuration information as well as ongoing updates automatically
from the Wireless Switch. Advanced radio processing ensures the
most robust wireless performance and range, even in the most demanding
environments.
